Unlocking Career Opportunities in Automotive Engineering: WPC Group and NISSMAP Pave the Way

Meet Jai, the newest apprentice at WPC Group, hard at work at Sydney City Nissan. Here he is diving into his journey towards a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, gearing up to master the mechanics of his dream car and beyond.

At WPC Group, we are dedicated to fostering young talent and providing pathways to successful careers in the automotive industry. Our commitment is evident in the opportunities we create through the NISSMAP (Nissan Mentored Apprenticeship Program), an innovative training scheme designed specifically for apprentices in the automotive sector.

Welcoming New Talent: Jai's Journey Begins

We are thrilled to announce that Jai has joined WPC Group, hosted at Sydney City Nissan, to pursue a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology. As part of our NISSMAP Program, Jai will be completing his training with the Major Training Group (RTO 6139), acquiring the practical skills essential for a flourishing career in automotive engineering.

Jai's apprenticeship will see him embark on a structured training regimen that blends theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience in vehicle mechanics. Starting his first NISSMAP training block in April with our new first-year cohort, Jai is set to develop a comprehensive understanding of automotive systems, coupled with real-world applications that enhance his skill set both in and outside the workplace.

A Mentor’s Perspective

it's exceptionally rewarding to see our new apprentices, like Jai, start their professional journeys. The eagerness and dedication they bring to their roles inspire a vibrant learning environment, contributing positively to our community and the broader automotive industry.

There's still an opportunity for more young enthusiasts to embark on this career journey. Interested individuals can reach out to WPC Group at recruitment@wpcgroup.org.aufor more information about how to join the program.

Dream Big, Drive Bigger

A fun fact about Jai is that his dream car is the legendary Nissan R-34, a choice that aligns perfectly with the spirit of our program. The Nissan R-34 isn’t just a symbol of high performance and advanced technology; it represents the pinnacle of automotive dreams that we aim to make accessible to our apprentices.
