‘Top Honours to Inspirational Traineeship Graduate’ - Government House, Victoria

WPC Group trainee Kayleigh Gallagher, has won the ‘2019 Inspiration Award - Indigenous Student of the Year’ at the AEN Awards, held at Government House December 6, 2019.

This newly added award category recognises the achievements of Victorian indigenous apprentices and trainees and their commitment to their communities.

Kayleigh completed her business traineeship at The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).

DELWP’s Aboriginal Employment Plan outlines its aim to grow its own Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce, creating lasting change and sustainable jobs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

DELWP is working to build and strengthen its relationship with the Traditional Land Owners in Victoria and works with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across the State to provide employment, training and business opportunities to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in Victoria.
