OHS and Well Being

Workplace Health and Safety

Of paramount importance in our on-boarding program is teaching new employees the crucial role of safety in the workplace. We know that workplace safety is a full time job—not a part time practice—so we work closely with apprentices and trainees to develop a safety-first mindset.

We will ensure all apprentices and trainees know all their workplace health and safety responsibilities, and have completed an online safety induction assessment before walking into your workplace.

In the unlikely event of a workplace incident, WPC Group will also fully manage the claim and return to work process, to ensure apprentices and trainees return to working and learning as soon as possible.

WPC Group recognises the importance of consultation between management, employees and your business for the successful integration of WHS processes.

Both yourself and WPC Group have a duty of care under the relevant Act to provide and maintain a safe workplace for contracted labour. An employee, while at work, must take all reasonable and practicable steps to ensure their own health and safety, and that of any other person. Every employee of WPC Group (including apprentices and trainees) that enter any of your worksites will have made themselves familiar with your company safety policies and procedures. Ongoing, WPC Group will work with your safety team to ensure safety is the highest priority on all sites.

WPC Group have strong injury management and RTW processes in place to ensure all work place incidents are handled efficiently and effectively and with ongoing consultation with your organisation.

The Apprenticeship Employment Network (AEN) has a long history of working with our members to develop occupational / workplace health and safety resources, our SafetyFirst website provides a greater level of access to a range of workplace health and safety resources and services to support our members, apprentices and small business employers to ensure safety comes first.

An Inclusive Work Culture

WPC Group values and recognises diversity in the workplace. We are an equal opportunity employer and actively support and encourage applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds to apply. and achieve their career objectives irrespective of their race, ethnicity, age, ability, language, nationality, socioeconomic status, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. We are also cognizant of the need to create diverse future workforces that equip organisations in their aspirations for growing and thriving.
