See just how far you can go as part of one of our award-winning programs that combine education with on-the-job experience at one of Australia’s leading companies. Because we know you’re not doing it for a job—you’re looking for a career.

Get with the program

Taking part in a customised apprentice or trainee program means participating in a program designed by an employer who has specific skills and training requirements to be developed. Employers use these programs to diversify their workforce and welcome exciting new talent into their business.

For apprentices and trainees, these specialised programs mean additional support throughout your placement. Program participants also have a higher completion rate and are more successful at gaining ongoing employment.

“Being an apprentice means 95% hands-on experience and 5% theory, which is perfect for my style of learning. Because I’m a visual learner, it means when I’ve finished my apprenticeship I already have the hands-on skills I’ll need, instead of being a beginner trying to put theory into practice in the real world.”

What To Expect

Typically, apprenticeships take three to four years to complete, while traineeships take anywhere from 12 to 24 months. Your time in a program is designed to increase your skill sets, knowledge, confidence in your role, and day-to-day understanding of the business, all while obtaining a nationally recognised qualification.

Further, purpose designed programs generally have additional professional development opportunities available (e.g. academy / manufacturers training), designated workplace coaches, learning scholarships (including travel opportunities), brand specific uniforms, dual qualification opportunities, and accelerated apprenticeship completions (subject to competency), all with the view for you to build a long-term career with your apprenticeship/traineeship employer and industry.

Program Benefits

Being part of an apprenticeship program has benefits:

  • Expanded educational and training opportunities

  • A defined career path with your employer

  • Get recognised for achievements and nominated for awards

“Taking part in NISSMAP is the best choice I’ve ever made. Not only did it help me qualify early, but it’s also set me up for a successful future by giving me the opportunity to complete my dual trade qualification. The people I’ve met, the friends I’ve made, my teachers, and my WPC Group mentor all added so much to my experience. The NISSMAP program is an absolute beast, and has set me up for a stellar career, and I intend to make the most of it.”
